This weekend we will continue with the general maintenance of the Canyon Trail and then on to the Langdon Trail.  The work will be recovering the gravel that has moved off the edge and any other repairs we come to.  As people use the trail the gravel works over to the edge.  It is much easier to rake that gravel back onto the trail then to bring in more gravel.  We will be using rakes and hoes to cut back weeds, recover gravel and to relevel the trailbed.

The trailmaster will have work parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 AM and working until 1 PM.  There is little work for preteens and younger, it is hard to keep them on task.  All tools will be provided.  We will be meeting at Trailhead Park near the restroom building at 9 AM and you will need to be on time because we can be hard to find and there will not be any tools for you. The trailmaster need to know if you are coming so he can plan the work and make sure all the tools we need are available.  Please email at [email protected].  Be prepared to walk up to near the summit before we start working.

You will need to bring work gloves, water and snacks, and dress for the weather forecast.  Since we will be moving along the trail while we work you should bring a small pack to hold you things.
