The soil on the north side of Badger Mountain is made of very fine particles, mostly wind deposits. That's right, it is piled up dust and is very weak. Trail work starts for the fall season When: Sunday, September 23rd, 8:30 to 12:30 Where: We will be working on the Sagebrush Trail near Trailhead Park The Friends of Badger Mountain will be teaming with REI for this upcoming National Public Lands Day, well actually the day after, Sunday, September 23rd.  We will be working to finish the new edition to the Sagebrush Trail which was extended down to Trailhead Park earlier this spring to give an alternate route around the steps.  Part of…

Last week the crew did a lot of work on the lower Canyon Trail filling in many pot holes. We used 90 to 100 gallons of water and 3 loads of gravel. We did not get to the upper part of the trail so I will be having another work party this Friday to work of that part. When - Friday, August 17th, meet at 6:30 AM.
