DESCRIPTION:This event by our friends at the Columba Basin chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society may be of particular interest to those wanting to understand the importance of our weed control work on Candy and Badger Mountains. \nVic Reeve\, weed control coordinator with the Benton Noxious Weed Control Board\, will talk about what the role of the weed board is and how they work with landowners to control noxious weeds. Not all weeds are created equally\, and best management practices are used to achieve a sustainable and healthy environment. DESCRIPTION:Without proper funding many of the trails Washington hikers love could be closed and neglected. Make your voice heard on this important issue.\nEach year\, Washington Trails Association is in Olympia working with lawmakers to advance the interests of hikers. But we can’t do it alone. \nDecision-makers need to hear directly from hikers like you! Elected officials need to know that their constituents–you–care about preserving wildlands\, accessing trails and funding for trail maintenance. \nIt is critical that the hiking community comes out in force for Hiker Rally Day. The day will include a lobbying training\, an issue briefing on recreation funding in Washington state\, meetings with legislators and the opportunity to network with other hikers. \nTo take part\, please visit the Washington Trails Association page and RSVP
