DESCRIPTION:This weekend we will continue with the general maintenance of the Langdon Trail.  The work will be recovering the gravel that has moved off the edge and any other repairs we come to.  As people use the trail the gravel works over to the edge.  It is much easier to rake that gravel back onto the trail then to bring in more gravel.  We will be using rakes and hoes to cut back weeds\, recover gravel and to relevel the trailbed. \nThe trailmaster will have a work party on Friday starting at 9 AM and working until 1 PM.  There is little work for preteens and younger\, it is hard to keep them on task.  All tools will be provided.  We will be meeting at Trailhead Park near the restroom building at 9 AM and you will need to be on time because we can be hard to find and there will not be any tools for you. The trailmaster need to know if you are coming so he can plan the work and make sure all the tools we need are available.  Please email at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org.  Be prepared to walk up to near the summit before we start working. \nYou will need to bring work gloves\, water and snacks\, and dress for the weather forecast.  Since we will be moving along the trail while we work you should bring a small pack to hold you things.

SUMMARY:Badger Trail Work
DESCRIPTION:This weekend we will continue with the general maintenance of the Canyon Trail and then on to the Langdon Trail.  The work will be recovering the gravel that has moved off the edge and any other repairs we come to.  As people use the trail the gravel works over to the edge.  It is much easier to rake that gravel back onto the trail then to bring in more gravel.  We will be using rakes and hoes to cut back weeds\, recover gravel and to relevel the trailbed. \nThe trailmaster will have work parties on Friday\, Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 AM and working until 1 PM.  There is little work for preteens and younger\, it is hard to keep them on task.  All tools will be provided.  We will be meeting at Trailhead Park near the restroom building at 9 AM and you will need to be on time because we can be hard to find and there will not be any tools for you. The trailmaster need to know if you are coming so he can plan the work and make sure all the tools we need are available.  Please email at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org.  Be prepared to walk up to near the summit before we start working. \nYou will need to bring work gloves\, water and snacks\, and dress for the weather forecast.  Since we will be moving along the trail while we work you should bring a small pack to hold you things.

SUMMARY:First Trail Work Party of Fall 2017 (Joined by REI)
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Badger Mountain will be starting the fall work season for the Badger and Candy Mountain trails. The Kennewick REI store is helping get the season off by sponsoring the first work party on National Public Lands Day\, Saturday\, September 30 from 9 AM to 1 PM. \nThe work will be general maintenance on the Badger Mountain trails out of Trailhead Park. We will be using tools such as rakes and shovels. There will be little work available for preteens and younger. \nIf you would like to help please email Jim Langdon at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org so he can plan the work and have enough tools available. Please bring work gloves\, water and snacks and a pack to carry them in plus dress for the weather forecast. All tools will be provided. We are only meeting in Trailhead Park and will then hike to the work location so please be on time and plan to be there the 4 hours.

DESCRIPTION:For this work party we’ll be working on finishing the trail into the new parking lot. This will include building a rock wall where the trail will come down in the parking lot\, raking out and then graveling the last 400 feet of trail\, and a few other tasks. \nWe will be meeting at 9 AM at the Candy Mountain Preserve Trailhead parking lot.
