DESCRIPTION:This weekend we will continue with the general maintenance of the Langdon Trail.  The work will be recovering the gravel that has moved off the edge and any other repairs we come to.  As people use the trail the gravel works over to the edge.  It is much easier to rake that gravel back onto the trail then to bring in more gravel.  We will be using rakes and hoes to cut back weeds\, recover gravel and to relevel the trailbed. \nThe trailmaster will have a work party on Friday starting at 9 AM and working until 1 PM.  There is little work for preteens and younger\, it is hard to keep them on task.  All tools will be provided.  We will be meeting at Trailhead Park near the restroom building at 9 AM and you will need to be on time because we can be hard to find and there will not be any tools for you. The trailmaster need to know if you are coming so he can plan the work and make sure all the tools we need are available.  Please email at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org.  Be prepared to walk up to near the summit before we start working. \nYou will need to bring work gloves\, water and snacks\, and dress for the weather forecast.  Since we will be moving along the trail while we work you should bring a small pack to hold you things.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of Badger Mountain will be starting the fall work season for the Badger and Candy Mountain trails. The Kennewick REI store is helping get the season off by sponsoring the first work party on National Public Lands Day\, Saturday\, September 30 from 9 AM to 1 PM. \nThe work will be general maintenance on the Badger Mountain trails out of Trailhead Park. We will be using tools such as rakes and shovels. There will be little work available for preteens and younger. \nIf you would like to help please email Jim Langdon at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org so he can plan the work and have enough tools available. Please bring work gloves\, water and snacks and a pack to carry them in plus dress for the weather forecast. All tools will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Friends of Badger Mountain and the Washington Native Plant Society will be planting sagebrush in a buffer area between the soon-to-be parking lot for the new Candy Mtn. trail and nearby houses. We only have 60 sagebrush to plant – if we get 10 people that’s just 6 plants a piece and then we’re done! \nJoin us this coming Friday\, March 3\, at 9 AM next to the future parking lot (see map).
