SUMMARY:Trailwork Party - November 13th
DESCRIPTION:For exact details on work planned\, reach out to trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org \nThis next week we will continue working on the Sagebrush Trail rock wall and if we have time move over to Candy Mountain.  We will be using our gravel hauler to move the rocks to the work site so the hard part is made easy.  We will also be using shovels and hand trowels. \nWe will be meeting at the Trails Building in the Westgate parking lot off of Dallas Road\, 5305 East PR 210 at 8:30 am. Please be on time. We will then carpool over to near the work location. \nThe trailmaster will provide all the tools. Volunteers will need to bring work gloves\, water and snacks with a small pack to carry them\, and dress for the weather forecast. There isn’t any work for preteens and younger\, it is hard to keep them motivated for 4 hours. Back again this fall the trailmaster will be providing homemade cookies for the morning break! \nYou will need to sign-up so the trailmaster can tell you if the meeting location moves to Candy Mountain.  Please let the trailmaster know that you are coming by sending an email to trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org

SUMMARY:Trailwork Party - April 18th
DESCRIPTION:For exact details on work planned\, reach out to trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org \nWe will be working under the COVID restrictions\, but it is all outside low risk work (View FoBM’s Safety Plan). There will be a limit of 12 people. We will be keeping at least 6 feet apart\, masks will be required if we need to work closer. \nThe trailmaster will provide all the tools. Volunteers will need to bring face masks\, work gloves\, water and snacks with a pack to carry them\, and dress for the weather forecast. We will meet by the restroom build in Trailhead Park at 8:30 AM. There isn’t any work for preteens and younger\, it is just hard to keep them motivated for 4 hours. Please note that the work location is near the top of the Canyon Trail so be prepared for a hike to work. Unfortunately the COVID rules do not allow the sharing of food so I will not be providing cookies. \nSign-ups help with planning and making sure there are enough tools. Sign-ups are also good in case the trailmaster makes last minute changes to the schedule or meeting location. Please let the trailmaster know that you are coming by sending an email to trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org

SUMMARY:Trailwork Party - April 4th

SUMMARY:Trailwork Party - March 21st
DESCRIPTION:After two weeks of work on the upper Canyon Trail we have completed about 250 feet plus a lot more that is just waiting for gravel to be added. Turns out that the great spring weather is not only good for trail work but also it attracts hikers. Lots of hikers! Hikers and gravel haulers don’t easily mix. It will be better after we get the trail widened\, then we can get the gravel placed. \nThe plan is to continue the work again this week with the major part making the rock bench platform bigger. It is going to be a little messy for now but be patient. The weather forecast looks good and so does the soil moisture. There will also be more work moving the rocks along the edge. \nWe will be working under the COVID restrictions\, but it is all outside low risk work (View FoBM’s Safety Plan). There will be a limit of 12 people. We will be keeping at least 6 feet apart\, masks will be required if we need to work closer. \nThe trailmaster will provide all the tools.
