For this trailwork party we will be meeting near the restroom building at Trailhead Park.

This weekend we will start regular trail maintenance. We will be recovering the gravel that has slipped past the rock edging on the Canyon Trail. The gravel protects the trail from getting potholes and it doesn’t do that well if it is down the hillside. For this work we will be using rakes and McLeods, a beefed up rake-hoe combination.

The trailmaster will provide all the tools and even some cookies at the mid-day break. Volunteers will need to bring work gloves, water and snacks with a pack to carry them, and dress for the weather forecast. There isn’t any work for preteens and younger, it is just hard to keep them motivated for 4 hours.
