Weekly Update: The push this week will be to do the rough clean up that last 400 feet. The rocks need to be separated from the needed dirt and then hauled away. After it is cleaned the trail bed will be smoothed out, protruding rocks removed, the back slope will be added, any narrow spots fixed and then gravel will be laid down. This is the fun part because you get to see completed trail being made.

The Trailmaster will lead work parties every Thursday through Sunday mornings starting at 8 and ending at noon until around Thanksgiving. The work will be to complete the Skyline Trail project and then move on to other maintenance. The Trailmaster knows, you always wanted to help but can’t seem to get an open day to do it. Well you can schedule a day now and maybe find a friend to come along!

The Trailmaster will provide all the tools and even some homemade cookies at the break. Volunteers need to bring work gloves, water, and snacks with a small pack to carry them, and dress for the weather forecast. There isn’t any work for preteens – it is hard to keep them motivated for 4 hours. Those 13 to 15 will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You will need to sign-up so the Trailmaster can plan the work, bake enough cookies and let you know if plans change.
