Friends of Badger Mountain (FoBM) recognizes that individuals may wish to make donations in memory of loved ones. Consistent with their policy, Benton County, who has jurisdiction of the Badger and Candy Mountain Preserves, does not allow memorials such as park benches, rocks and plaques. FoBM, however, in January 2023 created this page where we will acknowledge people in whose memory contributions have been made.

People who wish to make memorial contributions can do so in several ways:
- When giving by check, noting the person’s name on the FoBM Donor form or on the memo line of the check.
- When giving by credit card thru FoBM’s Network for Good website, noting the name on the line identified for that purpose.
- Donors can also give through Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), IRAs, and appreciated stock.
All contributions support our main goals: preserving ridge land and habitat, building and maintaining trails, and coordinating education and other special projects to increase enjoyment and stewardship of our local mountains and preserves.
FoBM is an all-volunteer organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Tax ID# 84-1702655.
Additional Information
- If you name Friends of Badger Mountain in the obituary, you may want to include our website: friendsofbadger.org or our address: P.O. Box 24, Richland, WA 99352.
- If you would like to include information on how to give at the person’s memorial here are some things that could help:
- An FoBM donor form created for memorials, which you may print as many as you would like;
- A sample message that you can revise with your own information. If you wish, you may print on card stock, fold and stand on the table near the donor forms and a basket.
The sponsor of the memorial will be sent a list of the names of donors within six months of the initial contribution or sooner if requested.
All who donate receive a thank-you note and a letter documenting their contribution for tax purposes.
All donors who give their email address will be invited to the annual FoBM meeting.
